Battlefield 3: Faux Pas and Server Fuck-Ups
So I think it's no question that the recent performance of EA's PSN and XBox Live Servers have been pitiful to say the least. More Server outages than Days Released? Not a great Business model if you ask me.
I might be just posting this out of anger for the horrendous performance of the Servers, but whatever the reason, it's inexcusable. I was on the fence on whether or not to buy Battlefield 3, and right now, I'm pretty sorry I did. I really didn't expect this game to be any good, and when It turned out that it was a pretty alright game, i gave into the urge to buy it, and now i can't believe I did. With Modern Warfare 3 only 11 Days away (As of when I'm posting this) I'm really glad Gamestop is giving even $30 for this game.
Overall, from what I've been able to play from this game, It seems fairly good; The Campaign has kept me on the edge of my seat most of the time, and the only reason i've even played campaign, is because I can't stand to sit In my basement any longer, looking at the Can't connect to the EA Servers derp derp derp Error Message when I try to play with my friend that just went away to college.
Now, The Online; The Multilayer has been pretty great as far as i can tell (about 4 games) and It has a fairly balanced gameplay, at first glance. Although it may seem balanced, this game is like a gallon of water sitting on the middle of a scale. If the other team has even a little more experience or skill than you, It's absolutely no contest. It's routine to get maybe 4-5 Kills in those games. Routine I said. In Twenty Minutes. Now if you manage to get around the 5 tanks and 2 Jets sitting at your deployment waiting for your to make your pathetic attempt at a kill, it's nearly impossible to get to their Objectives or try to balance it out without being seen and Instantly Killed
Now, as I post this, EA's Severs are down, and nobody on XBox Live or Playstation Network can play, with nothing more from a we understand, we're working on the issue derpittyderp from EA or Battlefield, I feel like it won't be the contest people thought it would between Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3.
My Advice, Hop on MW2 and try to get that feel back for an Infinity Ward Call of Duty Game, just in time for MW3. If Battlefield can't get it's shit together, and soon, Modern Warfare 3 Will run away with this one in a Heartbeat. If this gamer had the perfect servers that never just randomly went out every hour, I'd probably rate Battlefield 3 and 8. But Sorry, Until This Problem is fixed, I'm sticking with my 3 Stars. Out Of Ten
